Born in 1956 at Barrow-in-Furness, Graham Twyford grew up on Walney Island. His art education was at Lancaster College of Art, then Goldsmiths College of Art, London, where he graduated in 1979 with B.A.(Hons) Fine Art.
Graham Twyford became a full-time painter in 1979 and works mainly in oil and occasionally in watercolour, often using traditional ‘Old Master’ techniques which he has studied with interest over a number of years. Graham Twyford’s work is centred mainly on Landscape in the romantic tradition of British and American painting, sometimes extending to purely imaginative work inspire by the writings of J.R.R.Tolkien, C.S.Lewis or Arthurian romance.
Graham Twyford’s work has been exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, as well as in Canada and the U.S.A. and is included in many collections around the world.
