Glynn Williams has been a regular exhibitor at Beckstones Art Gallery for more than twenty five years and has built up a large number of followers. Born in Kent in 1955, Glynn Williams has been painting professionally since the 1970’s. Principally self-taught, he specialises in small oils of farm animals in gentle rural settings, often featuring cattle, sheep, horses, pigs, hens and geese. Glynn Williams’ well observed and finely painted atmospheric hunting scenes are particularly sought after and are in many prestigious collections. The precision with which Glynn Williams depicts each animal marks him out as an artist of exceptional equality with an easy ability to capture the correct posture of his subject, which contrasts perfectly with his subtle, gentle backgrounds. Glynn Williams work has been published in several forms, and examples of his paintings are in numerous collections around the world, including the U.S.A., Japan and South America.
If approaching the gallery from Penrith or the M6 heading East on the A66 there is a major diversion in place to the gallery via Motherby. Instead of this we would recommend taking the first turning right to Newbiggin shortly after the Rheged roundabout, follow the road through the village and then turn left as you come out of the village. Follow the road up the hill past the recycling centre and turn right at the bend where you will see our brown tourist board sign, follow the lane and signs to the gallery. Altenatively take B5288 from Penrith to Greystoke turning left left to the gallery less than a quarter of a mile out of Greystoke.
Otherwise please follow the diversion signs on the A66 - they will successfully get you here but it will take 10 minutes longer.
