Stuart Long

Stuart Long has been a constant exhibitor at Beckstones Art Gallery for a number of years. Born in 1962, he has had a lifelong interest in landscape painting. Stuart Long is principally self-taught and his technique has developed into a recognisable style combining freshness with strength of colour. The ‘wet into wet‘ process is used to create the soft reflections which characterise his work. Stuart Long first started painting in oils but later turned to watercolour and specialises in Lakeland landscapes and other mountain scenes. His work has been exhibited extensively in the UK, and Stuart Long’s many collectors come from as far afield as the U.S.A., Japan and South Africa.
