Julian Mason

Born in 1971 in Newcastle-under-Lyme Julian Mason was introduced to landscape painting by a college lecturer at the age of 21 whilst studying graphic design in Falmouth. Julian Mason’s paintings reflect the true glory of the landscape, often depicting rugged mountainous scenes with fast moving skies and also gentle sunsets and trees and flowers. Julian Mason spends the majority of his working time in the Lake District, Peak District and Cornwall in all weathers and all seasons. Working in oil and painting en plein air, Julian communicates his love of the landscape through his paintings. When painting the grandeur of the Lake District, Julian Mason’s keen eye and expert application of oil on canvas are combined to produce work of both depth and integrity that convey the enigmatic power and majestic beauty of this most stunning area of the British Isles. Now aged 40 and living in Cheshire with his wife and two daughters his paintings are in many collections both in the UK and around the world.
