| Janny Meyer has had a continuous presence at Beckstones Art Gallery for almost twenty years and has established a keen following. Born in 1938 in Holland, Janny Meyer grew up on a farm in the Dutch countryside. As a child she showed a passion for sketching and painting and this continued into adulthood when she pursued a full-time career as an artist. Janny Meyer is primarily self-taught and she specialises in small paintings in oils. Greatly experienced in the local style of painting, she is particularly well-known for her distinctive work featuring Dutch village scenes with traditional buildings and people in both summer and winter seasons. Janny Meyer still life paintings featuring Dutch kitchens have been particularly successful, as have her woodland studies. Janny Meyer is a popular artist in Holland and her skill and originality have made her a much sought-after artist in Great Britain and many other countries also. | ||||||
