| Steven Lingham |
| Steven Lingham has been a regular exhibitor at Beckstones Art Gallery for some ten years. Born in Derby in 1973, he is a self-taught artist who formerly worked as a trained printer. Most of Steven Lingham’s work is focused around wildlife, including his real passion for British birds, the subject matter for which he is most renowned. He is a member of the RSPB, Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, The Wildlife Art Society International and The Marwell Zoo International Art Society, all of which promote the conservation of wildlife. Steven Lingham’s love of wildlife and fascination for detail makes his paintings almost photographic, giving the subject life and movement true to its natural form. He thinks nothing of spending several hours working on an area of his painting, only inches across, to accomplish the desired effect. Steven Lingham uses a variety of painting media – gouache, acrylics and oils, depending on the effect he is trying to achieve, all of which allow him to attain accuracy in colour, shape, and light. He is renowned for the quality of his paintings which are becoming much sought after and are included in many private collections from South Africa to the USA. Steven Lingham has won a number of awards. |
