Joe Hush has been exhibiting at Beckstones Gallery for only a few years but has quickly built up an enthusiastic following. Born in Northumberland in 1951, Joe Hush drew his inspiration from the surrounding countryside. He is a self-taught artist and has painted for pleasure for most of his life, before turning professional in 1993. Joe Hush paints primarily landscapes when the light interests him, and with a good eye for detail he tries to capture the atmosphere and his feelings on a particular day. The Lake District is among his favourite subjects. Joe Hush paints in different media but prefers acrylic and oils. He has had a number of exhibitions and his work is in many collections.
