| Thomas Heesakkers has been a regular contributor to Beckstones Art Gallery for some twenty years. Thomas Heesakkers was born on September 12th 1946 in the Den Bosch area of the Netherlands where he still lives and works. Life in the Netherlands immediately after World War II was difficult, but Thomas Heesakkers was determined to be an artist and persevered until he was accepted by the Dutch Youth Academy to study painting. He spent four years there and developed into a fine painter of still-life. Thomas Heesakkers paints in oil and prefers larger scale paintings. As well as his still-life, he occasionally paints landscapes in a romantic style. His work follows closely the traditional Dutch school of painting and has great depth and intensity and a richness of colour. Thomas Heesakkers paintings are in great demand and in collections in many parts of the world. He has exhibited in Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, Eindhoven, Venio and in England. | ||||||
