Darren Baker

Darren Baker has exhibited continuously at Beckstones Art Gallery for several years and has become increasingly collectable. Darren Baker was born in 1976 and exhibited outstanding artistic ability from the age of seven. He attended Bradford College of Art, and not long after graduation was exhibiting in London and at the age of 23 in New York. Darren Baker works in pastel and oils, often taking weeks in the preparation and creation of a single painting. His range of subject matter is rare in its absolute variety and fits within the genre of classical realism. Darren Baker has completed contemporary paintings on a range of art subjects including interiors, portraiture, figurative, equestrian, landscape and ballet. But it is Darren Baker’s still-life and interiors that have secured his reputation and wide critical acclaim. His figures and portraits have also earned him many accolades and his portraits now hang in rooms at 10 Downing Street, St James Palace, the House of Lords and the Professional Foothallers Association. Darren Baker’s technique and vision are the result of observation and inspiration from the Old Masters and contemporary realist painters. He has exhibited widely throughout North America, Europe, Japan and the UK. In London Darren Baker work is accepted by both the Royal Academy and the Mall Galleries, and he has won many awards including best artist at The Fine Art trade guild ceremony in London and the Garrick Prize, Christies, London.
